Day ten: Cowichan-chin

Today, I am wearing a Cowichan sweater handmade by my mémère. It wasn’t made for me but for my mom. She, my grandmother, also made a matching set for my dad and brother when he was a baby. How adorable is that?!

Speaking of grandmothers, I have to take a moment to talk about Nokomis clothing closing in Edmonton. Whereas this is really sad and disappointing, let us not linger too much on this loss. We must embrace the boutiques that still remain in Edmonton. We have for example: Meese, Coup Boutique and C’est Sera. These are lovely local shops worth perusing.

No matter where you live, make sure to support your local boutiques! I cannot imagine how tough it must be to compete with all the big box stores and ginormous malls we have these days.

Also, Nokomis won’t be closing till the end of January. Till then, all their items will be sold at great sale prices. That said, now is your chance to purchase beautiful things my friends! Click here for more info.

Back to the outfit! I am wearing a snood scarf that I made by sewing together 1m of black fabric. Really easy! The black jeans are Cheap Monday from High Grade clothing that I bought at the same time as Day 7's. The shoes are Chinese Laundry. I bought them at the Bay in October.

I love this photo, it reminds me of Charlie Chaplin’s walking style.
