Bonjour de Montréal!

I’ve been in Montréal since about 3PM yesterday and so far I’ve been having a blast hanging out with my friends. We spent the majority of the day lounging around in Emilie-Anne’s cozy apartment catching up and resting so we would have energy for the evening.

We also toured around McGill to see the Campus, notably, the Music department. Walking through the corridors the sounds of multiple instruments played by diligent students, meshed together so beautifully and interesting. Both that and the fact that these students were practicing on a Saturday night, was mind boggling.

The highlight of my day was, by far, seeing Martin Solveig at La Mouche. For those of you unfamiliar with the name, he is the French producer of Dragonette’s ‘Hello’. It was as he said “the best dance party of the year 2011”. Solveig skillfully mixed tracks by Nirvana, Guns & Roses, MGMT, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dragonette to name a few. He is simply phenomenal.
